--Awards will be given in three categories: A, AA and AAA, according to Minnesota State High School League 10-12 enrollment.
--Contact Christian Gilbert at cgilbert@waconia.k12.mn.us if intrested in performing. Registration for this event must be completed by April 1st, 2007.
Awards will be presented in each class, as follows:
-First Place: $700
-Second Place: $400
-Third Place: $300
-Best Wind Section trophy
-Best Percussion Section trophy
-Best Color Guard trophy
-People1s Choice trophy
-Over-all Grand Champion Band will awarded to
the first place band with the highest score and
will receive an additional $200 and a LWBF Flag.
--Bands may plan their arrival time according to the parade order.
--Buses may remain with your band until you step off, although the line up area will be congested.
--The parade route is short and it is suggested that each band perform three times along the route: Central Park, Judging area, After left turn at Bayview Middle School. Four performances may be possible if bands begin playing
immediately upon entering the parade route.
--Awards will be held at the Bayview Middle School football field. Please have a representative of your band in uniform. WHS Drumline will cadence the Drum Majors and Commanders onto the field. Bayview is within easy walking distance of the fairgrounds area bus parking.
--No buses or trailers will be allowed on the parade route.
--The parade will go on as scheduled. Each band will decide whether or not to march, depending on the circumstances.
--The parade may be delayed up to one hour or cancelled.
--Each band will be expected to begin marching from the lineup area and continue through the judging area.
--All requests for departure from the above policies are to be directed by the band director or his/her representative to a Parade Committee member at the start of the route.
--Medical assistance will be available along the parade route and at the end of the parade route.
--Each band member, chaperone and marching band staff member will receive pop, hotdog and chips at the end of the parade route. Vegetarian offerings will also be available. Tickets will be provided to each member. Food will also be available for purchase.
--Parade order each year is determined by the prior year's final standings in reverse order. (Example: Grand Champion from last year's festival will be placed at the beginning of our parade.)
--Each band will be provided with full parade instructions.
--The first 14 bands to apply will receive a $350 performance stipend.
--A maximum of 20 bands will be accepted.
